Nicolas' Two Week Checkup
Well, we are enjoying our newest addition and the beautiful spring weather of late! Nicolas had his two-week checkup on the first, and he is doing great! He not only regained his birth weight but was up to 8 pounds! Mommy swears he has gained at least another pound since, he just seems to change by the hour these days. Meet Nicolas George
Nicolas George Gerstenberger would like to say hello to everyone! Both he and mommy are doing great (although a bit tired). Nicolas was born on April 17 at 12:25pm. He was 7lb 8oz and 20 3/4 inches long. He has lots of dark hair, blue eyes and a very laid back personality. Check out a few of our photos in the Photo Album.

Week 39
Well, we made it to 39 weeks (as of tomorrow). We're still experiencing regular contractions and waiting for it all to speed up and become real labor. I have to say, I much prefer the surprise water-breaking that was Lucas' arrival announcement rather than this slow, continual process. I wonder if this is a sign of things to come? We awoke to snow-covered grass and homes on Saturday and wondered if spring would ever begin to arrive. Thankfully, we have lots of sun today and predictions of high-6...

Busy Baby
Things have been exciting the last few weeks here at the Gerstenberger household. We made a couple of trips to the hospital the weekend of the 21st, so we are definitely in the mindset that the baby could come any day. Due to low amniotic fluid, my OB is having us do weekly non-stress tests and ultrasounds. During the test at my 35 week appointment, I was having contractions every seven minutes, so they decided to check me and I was dilated 2 cm. They warned me to call if the contractions got st...

We suffered a devestating loss last week. In a tragic accident, my stepmother, Kay, passed away. Her free, loving spirit will be greatly missed in our family and the many places she was involved.
